Learning in Reception
All the children entering Reception will continue to follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum which guides your child’s learning, development and welfare from birth to five. This is organized into these 7 areas of learning
Communication and Language
Personal, social and emotional development
Understanding the world
Expressive arts and design
The Early Learning Goals establish the expectations for most children to reach by the end of Reception. This then prepares children for learning in Key Stage 1 which begins in Year 1 when the children will follow the National Curriculum Programme of Study.
Early Years Pupil Premium
When your child is four, school may be able to claim up to £300 per year to help give your child the best start in life. This funding is called Early Years Pupil Premium and is available to families on certain benefits. The only way for school to get the money is for you to apply for it.
