Hi Topaz Class and welcome to the Summer Term!
I can't believe it's the Summer Term already! I have really enjoyed looking at the blog and seeing what you have been up to during the Easter Holidays. Looks like you have been keeping very busy and active. The wonderful weather has worked in our favour for that!
I've been keeping track of the work you have been completing on the blog and via Purple Mash. You will be hearing much more from me on Purple Mash so keep checking for my comments and look our for any special rewards. Remember you can also email us using the 2 email feature on Purple Mash. You can also email each other but all messages will need to be approved by a teacher first.
Enjoy!
English
Writing:
This week in English we are focusing on a new text called 'Ottoline and the Yellow Cat'.
Please complete Writing Challenge 3 and share your work on the blog.
Reading:
I would also like you to have a go at two reading comprehension activities. There are a variety of fiction and non fiction texts to choose from. These texts also come with differentiated questions depending on the ability of your child ranging from one star to three stars.

Spelling and Grammar
For this week's spelling activity head over to Active Learn.
You have been allocated an activity all about contractions. Follow the video clips to learn when and why we use apostrophes for contractions and then practise using an apostrophe for the words below. Maybe mum, dad or your siblings could test you after!
Maths
Please follow the White Rose maths lesson links. Choose Y2 or Y3 and continue from the last lesson you completed. There will be 5 Maths lessons uploaded each week.
As an extra challenge please visit Active Learn where I have allocated you an addition activity. Click here to go directly to the activities. Please work through the teaching videos before attempting the practise stages and activities.
Finally, I know how much you all enjoy the maths mosaics so below are a couple of mosaics for you to try based on multiplication and division. Have fun!
