Hello children! I hope you're all doing well.
I hope you all still managed to get out for fresh air and exercise last week despite the miserable rainy weather. The forecast is looking good for this week though! Lots more sun!
Just a quick update on Purple Mash. It's been lovely to read your emails about what you've all been up to on 2 email and also great to see some of your paper based learning that you've been doing. Instead of emailing me your work, have a go at uploading it to your work folder. All you need to do is head to your folder, click upload and you can add the file. That way, I can mark, comment and reward all of your fabulous paper based learning too!
Have a good week
English
Writing:
This week in English we are writing a postcard!
Your activity is to write a postcard to Ottoline's parents in role. Below are two pictures to show the postcards that Ottoline received while they were away.
When planning your postcard consider:
How might Ottoline begin and end her postcard?
What events could she recall from the story?
How is she feeling?
What does she ask?
Remember, postcards are written in the first person 'I' and you also need to think about using language suitable for the character.
Please complete and hand in your postcard on Purple Mash. It has been allocated for you as a 2 Do.

This week we are using Purple Mash to practise spelling words.
Year 2: Head to Purple Mash and look in your 2Do's for this week's spelling quiz!

This week I have allocated both year groups a grammar activity on Active Learn. Please head to your allocations and look in the Grammar and Spelling Bug area to find them.
Year 2: Your activity is learning about noun phrases. Please watch the video from Time Hopper and complete the games. Then write some of your own noun phrases. You could even extend them using some of the conjunctions we learnt about last week. Any work you do on paper, take a picture of it and upload to Purple Mash.
Year 3: Your activity is learning about possessive apostrophes. Please watch the video from Time Hopper and complete the games. Then write some of your own sentences including possessive apostrophes. You could even extend them using some of the conjunctions we learnt about last week. Any work you do on paper, take a picture of it and upload to Purple Mash.
Maths
Please follow the White Rose maths lesson links. Choose Y2 or Y3 and continue from the last lesson you completed. Please note, you can still answer the questions however the worksheets are no longer included. Instead, we recommend using the questions included in the Power Maths Summer Home Edition. Your parents have been sent a link to the ebook and some of you have ordered a print copy which will be delivered shortly.
Power Maths has 3 sections to each lesson. Please look at a single page at a time. Discover has a challenge for you to think about and discuss with an adult. Share then shows you strategies to solve this. Try getting pencil and paper or counters to work through what it shows you. The next two pages are practice pages for you to complete.
Maths- Further challenge:
Please head over to Active Learn and go to your allocations.
Year 2: You have been set a new lesson on Maths Factor focusing on adding a variety of numbers to 99.
Year 3: You have been set a new lesson on Maths Factor focusing on column subtracting with exchanging.
