Our carnival float continues to go from strength to strength. This year under the direction of Debbie Wragg and her dedicated team of parents, we won first place for a serious tableaux vehicle. Our environmental theme was shown through the recycling strung across the vehicle heading into the upturned skip. The children were dressed in recycled materials or as refuse workers and accompanied by Worzel Gummidge and Aunt Sally. The front of the school was a sea of paper plate flowers made by the children, real sunflowers and 'show the love' bunting made by the craft club in conjunction with the WI. Even the unseasonal weather could not dampen the enthusiasm of our children.
The 60th year of the carnival is a special year for Barlow and it is lovely to see so many pupils (past and present) and their families involved in the carnival on a variety of floats and taking on several different roles.
