In a new venture for the school, class 4 went on a residential visit to York. The children travelled by train from Chesterfield Station. Our first stop was the Railway museum where the children marvelled at the variety of trains on show and took part in two interactive workshops on track laying and bridge building. After settling into their rooms at the hotel, it was time to venture back into York along the city walls ready for a boat trip down the River Ouse. The next day saw the children being archaeologists at DIG and then finding out more about Viking life before moving onto the Chocolate Story where everyone made a lollypop to take home. Another train journey saw everyone back in Chesterfield in time for tea.
