In this step we are going to find out more about Kenya, especially its landscape and think about how it compares with the UK and its landscape.
Let's see what you can remember from last time. Say or write the facts that you have remembered about Kenya.
Name the 7 continents and seas and ask what continent is it on?
Choose the correct shape for Kenya and label the sea and the countries around it. Can you name the capital city, the highest mountain and one of the rivers?
Look on the globe and the atlas to check and locate Kenya and the UK.
Watch the video and answer these questions
What is the weather like in Kenya?
Why is the weather like this?
What do we know about the weather in the UK?
What is the landscape like in Kenya?
What food do they grow in Kenya to export or sell abroad?
After watching the video ask the children to tell you about what they have heard. Use a globe or an atlas to find countries the children are familiar with and identify Kenya. Can the children remember what the country of Kenya looks like? Does the globe or atlas show some of the landscapes we have learnt about in the video?
