Welcome to home learning in Amethyst class. These are suggestions and it is really up to you to decide what is best for your child over the coming weeks.
Ideally every day you should read together. Reception and Year 1 children are still embedding their phonic knowledge for fluency so practise the sounds sent home each day as well as the high frequency words (red words).
Maths and English can come through every day activities, especially when linked through your child's play.
Mornings are best for focus and attention, leaving the afternoons to pursue their interests and topic learning projects.
Try to take good care of yourselves with regular exercise and opportunities for mindfulness and relaxation too.
We will be adding to our class home learning page but don't forget to check out the Home Learning Resources Page for ideas suitable for all ages.
There's also some guided Yoga and relaxation - as recommended by Thomas & Eddie - from Cosmic Kids
There are English activities each week on the Oak National Academy
Over the course of a week, go to the Grammar and spelling bug activities
There are also spelling games and activities in Purple Mash in the 2Dos.
Phonics and writing Practise:
Daily uploads from RWI on to Youtube, all lessons ready by 10:30 each day.
Keep In Touch -
We're using the class blog (using your own blog page) as a way to keep in touch with all that you're doing at home so we can write comments to you. Please try to post something for us so we can catch up often.
Try the science activities suggested here.
Look at some of the activities set up for you in the '2dos' on Purple Mash
10 minutes on Numbots a few times a week.
For an extra Problem Solving Challenge try 'I see Reasoning' Ks1 videos for Year 1 (scroll down to the bottom of the page for his videos and games)
At least once a week do something practical like baking or pick a skill to consolidate and find an activity on our Maths page from the weekly NRich or the problem solving picture shared there or play a Maths game on Purple Mash.
