OUR SCHOOL
Barlow C. of E. Primary is a Church of England Voluntary Controlled co-educational day school maintained by Derbyshire County Council and catering for children within the age range 5 to 11. The recommended admission number for the next school year as agreed by the Local Education Authority is 13.
The school was opened in 1872 and is situated in the village of Barlow, set in a quiet and attractive site near to open countryside. The school makes full use of the local environment to support the education of the children. The school also has use of the local village hall for PE and the use of the grassed recreational area. The school has four teaching areas and a library area, which is also used for assemblies. Much work has been done in recent years to improve the facilities of the school including a fourth classroom area, making a paved seating area in the school house garden, an outdoor play area and a school garden.
