Week 2

The Stations of the Cross (part 2 of 2)

LO: Suggest meanings for narratives of Jesus’ death/resurrection

We have been looking at the Gospel of Mark, focussing on the 'Stations of the Cross'. These are the parts of the narrative behind Jesus' death and resurrection, known as the 'Sacrifice'.

For each part, I would like you to draw a picture showing the events and write an account of the events in the picture. You can do this by folding a sheet of paper in to 8 parts - we will look at 6 this week and 9 next week - you do not need to draw a large picture or write lots of sentences - it is more important to learn what the events are and to internalise the story and it's meanings.

Read through the account below in the pdf and look at the art associated with these parts of the bible in each link. Consider your responses to each part of the story: key moment, surprises, puzzles, feelings;

which characters do you most identify with?

How well or badly do different characters come out of it, and why? If you were to sum up a message of the narrative, what would it be?
