Welcome to Topaz

We are a mixed year 1 and 2 class.

Here the children's journey begins into Key Stage One, so it's a very important year! 

Our class teachers are Miss Collins (Tues - Fri) and Mrs Widdowson (Mon).

Our teaching assistants are Mrs Feeney and Mrs Durnall.

Here is a few things you might like to know about our class:

PE:

• Our PE days are Monday and Friday.
• Please make sure that your children wear appropriate footwear for PE on these days and come to school in their PE kit. 

Homework:

• Is set on a Friday and should be returned the following Thursday.
• Children are given five spellings to learn, they should write these daily to help remember the spelling patterns and then write them in sentences in their spelling homework books.
• Children have maths homework books and should aim to complete sections A and B and if they feel confident then section C. 
• In addition, we recommend that your child reads their Little Wandle reading book at least 4 times a week. They should be able to read this independently. Please can you mark in their reading record when they have read at home. 

What will the children need in school?:

• Everyday children should bring their book bag with their Little Wandle book and their reading record.
• Children should bring a water bottle - please don't put these in your child's book bag. 
• Children may bring a snack if they wish. 
• Children should place their snacks and drinks in their group trays.
