Phonics:
Please use this link to access the phonics lessons for your child.There are several parts for each year group, all of which we would like the children to complete. These are best done daily, but we understand if you do these at a time in that day that is appropriate for you and your child.
Reception: Set 1 lessons: Speed Sounds, Word Time Reading Lesson, Spelling Lesson and Red Words 1.
Year One: Set 3 lessons: Speed Sounds, Set 3 Spelling, Reading Longer Words, Red Words 2 and Read and Hold a Sentence 1.
Year Two: We have set you a task to do on Purple Mash.
Maths:
Year 1 and 2: Your Maths lessons can be found in your text book and practice book. Both are allocated to you on Active learn.
Year One: Textbook 1B, lesson 2 pages 12,13,14,15. Workbook pages Page 9, 10 and 11.
Year Two: Book 2A Finding Change, text book lesson 8. Workbook pages 126,127,128.
English:
Year 1 and 2:
Learning Objective: To be able to describe a familiar story setting.

Where does the story Little Red Riding Hood take place?
What can you see?
What can you smell?
What can you touch?
What would it feel like to be here?
Example adjectives to help you describe the setting:
dark, damp, green, muddy, trees, flowery, warm, open, creepy, quiet, rustling noises, snapping twigs, crunchy leaves and fluttering leaves.
When thinking about the setting, think about the forest, path, atmosphere and what it feels like to be there?
Don't forget about your five senses!
Year One - To write three sentences describing the setting.
Year Two - To write five 2a sentences describing the setting.
A 2a sentence is two adjectives before a noun, which are separated by a comma. E.g. Little Red Riding Hood sprinted through the green, gloomy forest.
Don't forget children to use:
- capital letters
- full stops
- finger spaces
- phonic knowledge when spelling
Computing:
This week in computing we are focusing on algortihms.
We have set you a task to do on Purple Mash.
Art:
Learning Objective: To explore different types of paper used in art.
