Below there is a link for the story of Little Red Riding Hood. Please read this to your child alongside the pictures which are also below.

The aim of this session to ensure the children able to understand what is said to them and to help them to explain their ideas and thoughts, answering the questions below, in full sentences.

Explain that you are going to reread the story of the Little Red Riding Hood that we have shared in class. Tell them need to listen carefully as you are going to ask questions as you read. Display the pictures as you tell the story. As you read, insert some pauses to check your child’s understanding.

What two things did her mother warn Little Red Riding Hood not to do? She must not leave the path to talk to the wolf?

 Why did Little Red Riding Hood forget her mother’s warning? She talked to the wolf.

Why did the wolf dash away when Little Red Riding Hood told him about Grandma’s house? He decided to go there and eat Grandma.

Why did the wolf put Grandma’s clothes on? He wanted to disguise himself to trick Little Red Riding Hood into coming near so he could eat her.

How did Grandma escape from inside the wolf? She jumped out of the wolf’s mouth when he was howling because Little Red Riding Hood was standing on his tail.

What did Little Red Riding Hood remember on the way home? She stayed on the twisty-turny path.

What did Little Red Riding Hood decide to do next time? She would listen to wise advice.
