The aim of today’s lesson is for the children to retell the story. Using the pictures as a prompt, the children are to use the phrases and words they have heard as they tell the story. 

Read the story again to the children along with the pictures. In this rereading try to focus on the vocabulary and phrasing used in the story. Tell them that if you pause, they should join in, or jump in  with the next word or phrase.

When they have heard the complete story, help your child to orally retell the story using the pictures, words and phrases they have become accustomed to when listening to the story.
