Maths: 

Year 6: The live Maths lesson will start at 9.30am. We will be doing lesson 7 Unit 7- decimals, Complete the pages from your practice book ( your new one if you have it at home). Self mark your work, correcting any answers the best you can.

You may find a place value grid useful for helping you to work out decimal questions. Click here to find one to help you with your work.

Year 5: The live Maths lesson will start at 10.30. Today we are starting Unit 8- Fractions. Complete the pages from your practice book and self mark your work, correcting any errors the best you can.

English: Using the ideas from the live lesson today, write an opening paragraph for your own flashback story based on the Eye of the Wolf. Remember to include the following:

-Write from the perspective of your chosen animal character in first person and present tense.

-Describe the zoo setting using powerful adjectives and ambitious vocabulary.

-Add extra detail and description by using a relative clause.

-Use semi-colons, colons or dashes to separate or link clauses.

As I sit staring at the metallic- grey railings that surround my enclosure, I am struck by the sudden realisation that this is now my new home. Crying children, who cling to their parents, prod

and point at me through the smudged glass that looks

into my enclosure. Despondently, I observe the influx of visitors to the zoo; within ten minutes of opening, it is teeming with obnoxious humans.

I sit on a solitary rock, surrounded by decaying foliage: an attempt by the zoo-keepers to

replicate my natural habitat and contemplate what my life used to be like when I lived in Green Africa........
