Hello Sapphire Class,
How are you all? I hope that you are keeping busy and still doing some learning? I'd love to hear about what you've all been up to so please start blogging on this website - i'm looking forward to seeing your avatars too!
Maths
Please follow the White Rose lesson links and complete the lessons. Click 'play' on the video and listen to the lesson. Then click on 'Get the Activity' and complete it. You can print it out if you have a printer at home or work from the screen and record the answers in the Maths exercise book you were given. There are five lessons to complete each week- one for each day!
I know how much you were enjoying the arithmetic homework too so I have added an arithmetic paper into the assessments folder for you to complete as well if you wish.
Reading
Aim to complete one comprehension task each week from your SAT buster books. Vary the comprehensions that you do, for example, alternate between poetry, non-fiction and fiction.
Use your Bug Club login to choose some e-books to read. I can see who is choosing books and reading regularly so watch out! Why not post a book review/recommendations on the blog page for others to see?
English
Continue with your persuasive York leaflet. Have you finished yours? I'd love to see them if you have- why not post a picture on the blog page? Check that you have included persuasive features by using the checklists found in the English folder on our class page.
Put those persuasive writing techniques to use by writing a letter to Mrs Watkin, persuading her to ban school uniform! Consider ways in which you can put forward a convincing argument. You can hand write this or type it on the computer. I have also set this as a 2do task on Purple Mash.
I have also set you a grammar 2do task on Purple Mash about synonyms and antonyms please complete this and 'hand in' online.
Continue to practise your spellings using the different strategies that you know. How about using rainbow writing this week? Why not test yourself on the Year 5/6 spelling words each week?
Science
We're jumping on to our next topic that we are due to start after Easter because it is tricky to carry out experiments to do with electricity at home. Our next topic is Forces. Please take a look at the lessons and have a go at some. Because you learn Science with Year 5, please click on the Year 5 Science tab to find the lessons.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
