This year the Soup Share grew due to the commitment and support of our amazing community. What began with a few litres of soup last year that ran out in just ten minutes became a wonderful Harvest event shared with everybody.
On Thursday our volunteers helped the children chop, peel and prepare vegetables donated by our families. They then gathered at the church in the morning surrounded by many slow cookers and soup pans and together created a feast for all to enjoy.
To help further the children in Emerald and Sapphire worked together to make bread rolls to share with the soup all for a voluntary donation after our Harvest service in church on Friday 25th October.
We are so grateful to everyone that helped. With the new pond coming later this year the plan is to fit planters to one side of the new fence which will get better sunlight and less shade than our other patch so that we can grow our vegetables more successfully than last year.
Thank you again
