After the success of last year's Great British Spring Clean we decided to run the campaign again this year, picking a week that looked to be a lot milder than last years heavy snow!
The children again geared up with litter pickers, vests and gloves and headed out in classes throughout the day litter picking along the streets and verges where they could. After school parents arrived also to take the equipment for some extra litter picking too.
Altogether we collected a total of 17 bags of litter with the support of the NED Waste Management team who provided us with everything. Last year we collected an astonishing 22 bags so things are definitely looking cleaner around Barlow.
A special thank you to Martin Burrell who came in to talk to us the day before about recycling in the home and how to keep safe while litter picking.
Thank you to everyone who took part
