At Barlow Church of England Primary School, we believe it is important to develop core values by which to live and which help to develop a moral and spiritual awareness. We seek to explore the meanings of the core values and their significance through weekly acts of worship delivered by Reverend Sarah Colver and Mrs Watkin. The gifts of truthfulness, friendship, trust, courage, perseverance, compassion, service, respect, forgiveness, generosity and justice are the values we want our children to leave with. Whilst these gifts are inclusive of human values, we try to anchor them into the Christian faith by relating them to the Bible through stories and readings. At the start of each half term the whole school attends a service at St. Lawrence's church, to which families and the local community are warmly invited. Children from school also volunteer to take part in Sunday services at intervals throughout the year. Pupils lead our Harvest, Christingle, Easter and Leavers' services, and again all are most welcome.
