Dear Ruby Parents
In the event of a bubble closing or a local lockdown, this is the place where we will post live links and activities to ensure as smooth a transition to remote learning as possible.
However, in the meantime, if your child is awaiting test results or your family are having to isolate then please use the following links to find out how you can support your child in their learning at home.
The mornings at school focus on phonics, literacy and maths and the other subjects are covered in the afternoons. We suggest you start the day with phonics. Click the link for the correct week below to see which sounds we are learning or revisiting. Use the resources sent home with each child to learn and practise the sounds and use the links for further activities. Practise writing the sounds learnt in short words and ensure correct letter formation when writing.
The information for maths for Year 1 and Year 2 will be allocated on Active learn for each day and we will try to email the workbook pages to you. For the English, an email will be sent via Purple Mash explaining the tasks for the day.
For Reception an email will be sent by Purple Mash outlining the Maths and English learning activities. You will notice that there are less tasks set for Reception as we consider that this age group learns best in play situations, so with the ideas suggested we would hope that you will be able to include them when they are doing something of their choice, for example counting and reciting numbers when climbing stairs, playing with toys etc.
In the afternoons, use the links below for the different subjects. Please only complete this week's tasks as they will replicate what we are doing in class. In the literacy link there are high frequency words, reading comprehensions and phonics activities for you to do.
Please make sure you do some reading and writing every day. There are the spellings, maths and other activities on Purple Mash for you to do.
Have a look at Picture News for a discussion about current affairs.
You can email us via Purple Mash with any queries, or upload photos as an attachment of anything you have done and also send it as an email via Purple Mash .
