Maths
This week, we are going to use the lessons on the Oak national academy for Maths. The lessons are suitable for following on your phone, table or computer and you just need a pencil and paper. When the teacher asks you to write something down or work something out, try to set it out neatly and keep your digits lined up just like we do with the squares in our maths books. The lesson will usually include:
When you have done the lesson, you could take a photo of your work and upload it onto purple mash.
Y4 - today’s lesson is on applying all the strategies you have practised this week. You can find it here.
Y3 – today’s lesson is on subtracting two 3 digit numbers with Miss Brinkworth. You can find it here. If you can’t see the independent task, you can see it if you pause the video just after the blue screen where it says pause for the independent task. Y3, if you have already done this, please try Miss Hill's lesson on bar models here.

Hopefully, your explanation text about Tutankhamen is all finished and your text is sounding good. Today is the day to make it look good. You can choose how you do this.
Choose from:
Phonics / Handwriting / Spelling
Phonics group – use the phase three spelling activity page 3, ow spelling activity. Use a sheet with lines on to help practise writing the letters –ow correctly and then put the letter pattern into some words. Can you tell your adult all the sounds on the sound mat?
No nonsense spelling group – use the word list. All these words sound very similar. If you need more practice on these words, spend more time practising and ask an adult to test you again on the words you don’t know. If you are already an expert, challenge yourself to find 4 more pairs of words that sound similar but mean something different.

We are still thinking about online safety. Imagine your friend Ollie has seen an upsetting video online.
How might he be feeling? What advice would you give him?
Can you produce a poster or a list of hints giving him advice about how to keep himself safe online and who he could talk to if he has found something upsetting? I have set this as a task on purple mash and you can see Ollie talking about the video he has seen but you could also just do this on paper.

We have been thinking about what Christians learn from the creation story. One of the things we have discussed is about people having a duty to take care of the natural world. Can you create a poster to show some of the things in the natural world we can take care of?
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
