Maths
This week, we are continuing to use the lessons on the Oak national academy for Maths. The lessons are suitable for following on your phone, tablet or computer and you just need a pencil and paper. When the teacher asks you to write something down or work something out, try to set it out neatly and keep your digits lined up just like we do with the squares in our maths books. The lesson will usually include:
When you have done the lesson, you could take a photo of your work and upload it onto purple mash.
Y4 - today’s lesson is adding using the column method by Mrs Crane. You can find it here.
Y3 – today’s lesson is on rounding to estimate addition with Miss Brinkworth. You can find it here.

Well done everyone for your fantastic work on Tutankhamen last week. We’ve really enjoyed reading your reports on Purple Mash.
This week we are going to be learning how to write direct speech correctly using inverted commas. Read the information carefully on this document that explains how to use inverted commas. You can also watch this video.
Then look at the two pictures below. Can you write a conversation to go with each picture?
Remember:
Please handwrite this in your best joined up handwriting. Then take a photo to upload to purple mash.

Choose two of the situations, draw a picture, write what the danger for the helper might be and how it can be made safer. You could always chat with an adult about the other situations too.
PE
Either go outside and try some of last week’s challenges or if it is miserable, have a look at some of the balance challenges Mrs Ryan set for Sapphire class on Thursday and see how well you can work through the colour coded challenges. Alternatively, go to the SHAPE youtube channel and try one of their challenges.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
