Hello Emerald Class and welcome to week 2 of our home learning page. We hope you are all well and keeping busy. Remember to check out my home learning day if you want a suggested structure for your day or talk to your grown up about what to do.
Some work is specific to this week or is set individually for you; other subjects are following the next lesson in a series of lessons. Please keep checking in, keep busy, keep learning and have fun!
English:
1.Following on from last week, could you continue your report writing activity about jaguars on Purple Mash. Log in and you'll find it on your To-Do list. Please have a go and find out as much as you can about this fascinating creature.
2.You will see a new icon on our class page called Reading comprehensions. Each week, could you choose 2 to have a go at. The ones you choose are up to you but have a go. Remember to look at the bottom corner for the star rating: Each task has a 1*, 2* or 3* rating. (3* is the most challenging, so choose the level you think is most appropriate to you.)
3.You have been allocated some spelling and grammar tasks on Active Learn. Log in and have a go.
Reading:
Please use your Bug Club log in to read for at least 30 minutes per day.
Maths:
Please follow the White Rose maths lesson links. Choose Y4 or Y5 and continue from the last lesson you completed. There will be 5 Maths lessons uploaded each week.
An extra challenge is available for you on our Maths pages. I see Maths offers daily reasoning challenges with a video to watch and a sheet to complete. Just don't peek at the answers on sheet two until you have given the challenges a good go. Maybe try one or two a week.
Science:
This half term the Year 4 children are learning about Solids, Liquids and gases. Check our Science icon for the next lesson and work your way through.
For Year 5, the unit you were studying was all about Electricity. We know you can't continue these lessons at home as you won't have the equipment you need to carry out the investigations!
So let's jump ahead: Your next unit is all about Forces. Click on the Science Icon and have a go at the lessons. Lots to find out and discover.
Topic
Don't forget to have a go at the York leaflet. This should take you several sessions to complete.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
